Everybody wants to be healthy, to live without pain and stress and to have control of one’s life. If you want to take control of your life, it is first necessary to look after yourself.
Let’s start with our bodies. We tend to neglect our bodies during the daily routine of life – in the ‘fast lane’, in front of a computer or under stress. It is very difficult for us to remember to make use of our bodies in the best way possible and we tend to take up increasingly ‘comfortable’ positions. Unfortunately, it is this ‘comfortable’ posture that can cause neck and back pain, headaches, and other discomforts. Our muscles slowly forget their natural state and we start to create further bad habits such as sitting with our legs crossed. Eventually this may lead to more serious health complications.
The Alexander Technique gives us a choice of how we use our body, i.e. how much effort we want to put into walking, standing, sitting or any other everyday action – even the smallest things like drinking tea. This technique can help us to cope with stress, emotions and breathing.
As a certified teacher of the Alexander Technique I can teach you one of the most natural techniques for using one’s body. To learn more about the Alexander Technique please read the What is the Alexander Technique tab.
